YouTube is one of the most popular websites with over 100 million videos viewed each day. Many people use YouTube to listen to their favorite songs. Although YouTube does not have the option available for you to record sound from videos, several companies have created programs to record sound from the Internet. One of those programs is Freecorder, a free sound recorder that appears as a toolbar in your web browser. With Freecorder, you can record and save YouTube songs as well as any sound on the Internet.
Instructions
Installing Freecorder
Step 1
Download the Freecorder toolbar and double-click the Freecorder download to begin installation of the toolbar.
Step 2
Choose "Freecorder Toolbar Legacy," click "Next," and then click "Next" again.
Step 3
Review the license agreement. When finished, choose "I agree to the Terms of the License Agreement" and click "Next."
Step 4
Choose a destination folder. The default folder is C:Program FilesFreecorder Toolbar. If you wish to place the download in a different folder, choose that folder now. Otherwise, click "Start Install."
Step 5
Pick the web browsers you will use with Freecorder. Your options are limited to Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Step 6
Click Finish to complete installation.
Recording YouTube Songs
Step 1
Open your web browser. Under the Navigation Toolbar at the top of the screen, you will see the Freecorder Toolbar.
Step 2
Click "Settings." Under "Recording Destination Directory," navigate to the folder where you would like to save your recordings. Click close.
Step 3
Open youtube.com and navigate to the video with the song you would like to record.
Step 4
Press "Record" on the Freecorder Toolbar. A recording window will pop up.
Step 5
Start the video on YouTube. The recording window will show a sound wave.
Step 6
Click Stop in the Freecorder Toolbar when the video stops.
Step 7
Name your file in the "Recording File Name" window and click "Accept." The song is now saved to your computer.
